The first wealth is health. – Ralph Waldo Emerson
“How is having good health going to make me money?” Let’s take a look.
1. Time is NOT the issue
When people have excuses about why they can’t create the life they want, you often hear things like:
- “I just don’t have the time.”
- “I’m too tired.”
- “I can’t seem to think clearly … ”
All of the above three objections have one thing in common, energy (or the lack of).Without the right amount of energy, it doesn’t matter whether you have all the time in the world or the strategies to build wealth, because you won’t be able to use them. However if you take care of your health, you can increase your energy levels, mental efficiency and be productive with your time.
2. Focus on having more energy!
Wth more mental focus and physical energy, you can perform better at work and be compensated for that. It also means you will have more energy to spend time with your children, or at least be present for your friends and family when you have those spare moments. The effect of health on your quality of life has an unbelievable domino effect!
3. Poor health is costly
How often do you hear people spending lots of money on medical bills and hospital bills because their health is failing? And how would that affect your productivity and income earning potential?
To give you some perspective–absenteeism due to illness, the cost of worker’s compensation, and general poor health, costs the US economy more than a half a trillion dollars a year! According to a new study by The Integrated Benefits Institute, which represents major US employers and businesses–bad health costs $576 billion a year.
Poor health is costly. Therefore, there must be a financial gain in getting your health back on track.
4. Health is irreplaceable
